Writing Project - The Island

You are right above the Pasific ocean. It's your third flight in a few weeks. You are tired but everything goes like planned and you got everything under control. Until now… A storm is roaring and the rain is smashing against the windows. The lightning flashes brighten the sky. The crew of the plane are running around shouting to each other and you realise the situation is serious. ..

Now, it is time for you to step by step write a thrilling story. The story has five episodes and for each episode you will practise different skills of story writing. 

You will practise: 

1. How to write a suspenseful beginning, 

2. How to describe the environment 

3. How to describe the characters of the story 

4. The structure of the story

5. How to write a great ending 

• The story you are going to write is about you being stranded on an island..

• You write in class and give feed-back on a classmate's text.

•  We are also going to practise various writing skills in class. 

• You will find the weekly assignments at TEAMS every tuesday and friday. If you miss a lesson you will have to check what to do at TEAMS, English. 

• Homework will be given and announced at TEAMS, English.

Vokabulär -ordförråd	Använder ett relativt enkelt ordförråd men försöker variera sig.	Använder ett varierat ordförråd, till viss del anpassat till uppgiften.	Använder ett avancerat och varierat ordförråd som passar uppgiften.
Stavning	Stavningen i texten är relativt korrekt men felar ändå på sådant sätt att det stör förståelsen.	Texten innehåller få formella fel som inte stör förståelsen.	Texten har inga eller enstaka stavningsfel.

To think about when you write your story:  

• Use many verbs, it has to happen a lot in your story. Use the film clip we watched in class as inspiration.  

• The reader has to get to know the main character pretty well to identify with him/her/they. The reader should like the main character (let this character do something positive in the beginning of the story). What could it be?

• Write in first tense singular (jag-form)

• Write in present tense (presens)
