Mother Language English- Famous person/speech project

 

 We have worked with our Agenda 2030 project during this whole school year.

 

1. We have investigated and gained knowledge about  the 17 goals and their meanings.
2. We have also read  Greta Thunberg’s book   “No one is too small to make a difference”.
3. We have worked also with songs just recently that you chose that are related to the goals.

 

You have all done very well so far and you have learnt alot from eachother.

 

Project- Famous Person/Speech

 

We will now work with the final part of this project. You may relate this to Agenda 2030 if you would like to, but it’s not necessary.

 

Here are the instructions for our new project:-

 

1. Choose a famous person to write about and to present to your class, who has made a famous speech.
2. Be prepared to present this to your class. Write a document to hand into me including the following details.
3. The person you choose should be world famous and someone who has made a difference. This person may not still be alive today, or he or she could still be in the people’s eye or in power in some way.
4. Start off by describing your chosen famous person. Where they are from, what they have done to make themselves famous and why they were/are so important to the world to this day.
5. Secondly describe an important speech that they have made or still make regularly today.
6. Describe what the reason was/is for making this speech. Who was/is the speech aimed at?
7. What is the speech really about and why does/did  this famous person make this speech in the first place?
8. Finally give your opinion on if you think this person should be famous at all and if his/her speech really was important.
9. Write your sources (källör) at the end of your document.

Syfte med undervisningen

We have been working with Agenda 2030 in the whole of Härryda's kommun. This project has been running all year.

The aim of this project is for students to  become more aware of what is happening in the world, open their eyes and become accustomed to the global goals and involved in a positive way.

Students will have the time to speculate and reason with each other about the goals and if they are possible or not in the long run.

Our present project relating to famous people and their speeches will educate my students with people who have made a difference to our present day or even our future.

 

Hur kan vi utmana eleverna vidare?

We have worked with all 17 goals so far. We have been working with Greta Thunberg's book, a music project related to Agenda 2030, and now we will work with famous people and their speeches.

Centralt innehåll

• Lässtrategier för att förstå och tolka skönlitterära texter. Att utläsa texters budskap, både det uttalade och sådant som står mellan raderna.
• Strategier för att skriva olika typer av texter med anpassning till deras typiska uppbyggnad och språkliga drag. Skapande av texter där ord och bild samspelar.
• Ordböcker och andra hjälpmedel för stavning och ordförståelse.
• Muntliga presentationer och muntligt berättande för olika mottagare. Anpassning av språk, innehåll och disposition efter syfte och mottagare.
• Skönlitteratur för ungdomar och vuxna, lyrik, dramatik, sagor och myter från olika tider och områden där modersmålet talas. Skönlitteratur som belyser människors villkor, identitets- och livsfrågor.
• Beskrivande, förklarande, instruerande och argumenterande texter, till exempel tidningsartiklar och arbetsbeskrivningar. Texternas innehåll, typiska språkliga drag samt deras ord och begrepp.
• Översättning av och jämförelser mellan texter på modersmålet och på svenska.
• Ord och begrepp för att uttrycka känslor, kunskaper och åsikter. Ords och begrepps nyanser och värdeladdning. Bildspråk och idiomatiska uttryck.
